Job Summary

The Head, Compliance Oversee the activities of the Compliance team and guide them to implement UP's Compliance strategy and Compliance Program, highlight any deficiencies and suggest improvements in current compliance processes, systems, and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Regulatory and Compliance Management:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a Compliance program and Work with regulators and internal management to ensure the compliance program adheres to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Acting as a business advisor by providing guidance to internal management and business partners regarding the implementation of unified payments compliance programs.
  • Maintain responsibility for all regulatory fillings and the oversight of any relevant regulatory reports, STRs/SARs filings, and any other reports or filings submitted by unified payments to any relevant local regulatory authority
  • Implement compliance standards in accordance with regulatory requirements, applicable codes of conduct, and best practices, in order to ensure Unified Payments operates legally, ethically, and responsibly. 
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to evaluate adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and facilitate compliance risk assessment training workshops for all stakeholders.
  • Engage in cross-functional responsibilities and performed other compliance functions as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer CCO.

 

Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement a compliance risk management plan and maintain an updated risk register.
  • Conducting an enterprise wide AML/ CFT risk assessment that includes (i) some of the relevant inherent risk components (customer base, products/services, delivery channels, and various locations where unified payments operate.
  • Ensure unified payment is not exposed to undue risks by using risk management systems to achieve specific goals within designated areas of each businesses.
  • Monitor Key risk indicators, analyses trends, and proactively address emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure controls and mitigation measures are in place.
  • Prepare and present compliance risk reports to Business Leads, senior management, and stakeholders.

Internal Control and Governance:

  • Implement and maintain an effective internal control framework to safeguard the company’s operations and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with internal audit to facilitate audit activities and address regulatory audit findings.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal controls and governance structures.

Requirements

Education 

University  Degree in Finance, Accountancy , Banking,  Law or financial management 

Member of any of the  following professional bodies is  mandatory:

  • Association of Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS)
  • Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
  • International compliance Association. ICA
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)

Relevant professional certificate in Internal Audit and  Compliance Management would be an added advantage

General Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant Compliance and Audit experience, preferably in reputable financial institutions or in the payments industry
  • Solid working knowledge of financial services regulations with a strong understanding of the local regulatory administration
